NEmulator 4.2 NES Download

If you want to play NES games, there is no shortage of NES emulators on the internet for you to choose from. But if you have an NES emulator, what do you do if you want to play Sega Master System games as well? You could download a Sega Master System Emulator. But it is more convenient to get NEmulator.

What is NEmulator?

NEmulator is an NES emulator that can run Game Gear and Sega Master System games. Developed by James Slepicka, NEmulator was initially designed to run NES and Sega Master System games.

Slepicka did such an impressive job of emulating the NES that he decided to turn his attention to other gaming systems. The emulator, which is fully developed, supports an abundance of function mappers, not to mention unofficial and undocumented opcodes.

As a result, it can run a multitude of NES games without bugs and glitches. One of the emulator’s biggest weaknesses is the absence of a configuration GUI. As such, if you’re new to emulators, you may struggle to make adjustments to the settings.

Nonetheless, NEmulator is an efficient emulator that can play hundreds of games without lagging. It does a lot of caching to enhance the speed. The interface simplifies the process of selecting games.

The software will load several live previews for you to look at. You can adjust the number of games you will see. Most of the games look exactly as they would on the NES console.

NEmulator Features

  • NEmulator uses DirectX 10
  • It only supports standard controllers
  • The game selection interface is unique
  • Supports unofficial and undocumented opcodes
  • Supports Cycle-Accurate Timing

How To Install NEmulator?

NEmulator is not difficult to use. You just have to download and extract it from the zip folder. Once you run the executable file, the emulator will launch. You don’t need an installer to start playing NES, SEGA, or Game Gear games on this emulator.

Of course, you have to download the emulator from a secure source. You don’t want to destroy your PC with a virus. Keep in mind that NEmulator runs on Direct X 10. Therefore, you need Windows Vista, 7, 8, and 10 to run it.

Step 2. If you keep getting the ‘msvcp140.dll is missing’ error, look for x86 Visual C++ 2015 Redistributable Package on the Microsoft website.

Step 3. If NEmulator cannot find the ROMs on your computer, it is because it always looks for them in specific places on the C drive. Go to nemulator.ini to change the location.

Conclusion

It runs many games without lagging. But it works on a limited number of platforms.
