Fortnite is one of the biggest games in the world. People call it a Battle Royale game because it allows a hundred players to face off against one another. The last survivor is the winner. Unlike other battle royales, you cannot attain victory in Fortnite by simply shooting your enemies.

You must also learn to build. That means finding supplies and creating a structure you can use to defend yourself. Fortnite is such a popular game, attracting millions of players around the world that it has become just as prominent on Android. But a lot of people struggle with Fortnite on Android. Some of them do not understand how to make it work. Others are still fighting with the Fortnite Android 60FPS problem.
Fortnite Features For Android Device
Believe it or not, the Fortnite Android 60FPS problem is not quite as prominent as it used to be. Technically speaking, Epic Games solved the issue. Though, whether or not you can access 60FPS depends largely on the device you have. If you have never played Fortnite on Android, this is what you should know:
1. Download
First of all, for the moment, you cannot acquire Fortnite from the Google Play Store. You can only get it from the official Epic Games website or the Samsung Galaxy Store. You should also know that the game is quite large. Most mobile games are small, less than 100MB in total. But with Fortnite, you should be ready to download 8.4GB or more. Depending on your internet connection, this may take a while.
2. Requirements
You need a 64-bit device with 4GB (RAM), Adreno 530, Mali-G72, MP12 (GPU), Android OS 8.0, and 3GB (Free Storage). These are just the minimum specs. A device with higher specs will also work.
3. Gameplay
If you can download and successfully install Fortnite on your Android device, you can use it to access any Fortnite account you created on other platforms. That includes PlayStation and Switch. Additionally, you can use your Android device to compete against players using other platforms and consoles. Though, this isn’t encouraged because gamers with controllers and keyboards have an advantage.
On Android, Fortnite has a joystick at the bottom (Left) that gamers can use to move around. The game also provides jumping and shooting icons. Because it is harder to play Fortnite on a mobile device, you have the option of engaging the ‘autofire’ feature.
The game also makes it easier to identify treasure chests in the vicinity. You are still at a disadvantage where players with consoles and computers are concerned. But if you have a powerful Android device, the game will run smoothly.
You can use Bluetooth headsets and the voice chat option. You can also even the odds by attaching a Bluetooth controller like a Moto Gamepad or a DualShock 4 Wireless Controller. But you cannot use a keyboard or mouse.
How To Enable 60 FPS For Fortnite On Android?
The Fortnite Android 60FPS issue was controversial because 60FPS is the standard in gaming. The frame rate provides a smooth, seamless and satisfying experience. But 60FPS wasn’t available on Android in the beginning.
The objective was to save battery life whilst also preventing overheating. You could make several changes to Fortnite’s performance on Android but you couldn’t force the game to work at 60FPS.
Some gamers on the internet identified a solution to this problem. They discovered a method that involved downloading Root Explorer, opening and granting it root access, opening GamerUserSettings.ini, and making very specific changes to the settings.
They also noted that you could use tools like GPU Turbo Boost to increase the performance of your phone. However, while you are free to pursue those solutions if you want to, it is no longer necessary.
After taking note of the complaints that people had regarding the Fortnite Android 60FPS issue, Epic Games released a patch (7.30) that allowed Fortnite to play at 60FPS on Android. Initially, you could only run Fortnite at 60FPS on the Samsung Galaxy Note 9, Huawei Mate 20 X, and the Huawei Honor View 20.
But that list has grown to include devices like ASUS ROG Phone II, Samsung Galaxy Tab S6, Xiaomi Mi9, Samsung Galaxy S20, OnePlus 7 Pro, and many more. Admittedly, there are plenty of Android devices that cannot run Fortnite at 60FPS. You have to buy one of the phones and tablets Epic Games has listed to take advantage of the framerate.
But if you already have a suitable phone, download the patch, go to the ‘Mobile Framerate’ option in the settings of the game, and select 60FPS. It is that simple. You don’t have to jump through hoops to enable 60FPS.
How To Enable 90FPS For Fortnite On Android?
If you thought that 60FPS was the limit on Android, you might be surprised to learn that you can play Fortnite at a framerate of 90FPS. But the number of devices that can do this is even smaller than the number of devices that are compatible with 60FPS.
Epic Games engineered a contract with OnePlus that allowed the developer to create a version of Fortnite that could run at 90FPS. But that option is only available for the OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro. Those are the only two Android devices that can run Fortnite at 90FPS at the moment.
People that have a OnePlus device know that the refresh rate display has a 120Hz option. However, if you are playing Fortnite, 90FPS is still your limit. But you have to keep a few things in mind.
First of all, you have to download a 7GB file, which is a lot. But that is to be expected. Secondly, enabling 90FPS is a simple matter of going to the settings and choosing the framerate you want.
However, the moment you select 90FPS, the game will take the quality preset down to the lowest setting. You are free to increase the quality settings. But doing so will automatically lower the framerate to 60.
Depending on how much time you spend playing Fortnite at 90FPS, don’t be too surprised if your phone starts overheating. In fact, it will probably become so hot that you won’t be able to hold it. In other words, you have to ask yourself whether 90FPS is worth the hassle.
